Frequently Asked Questions
Is it possible for a small church to send a group or individual?
Absolutely! ETC was founded to help small churches get on the mission field. We will do everything possible to help your church send a group or even one person to the mission field. We often combine churches together to create a strong mission team.
What is paid for when I go with ETC?
Every trip we list will show what is included in the cost. For many trips there will be 2 price quotes, one with airfare and one without airfare. For most of our trips the cost includes the following: transportation to the site, ground transportation at the site (this might be car, train, or metro cards), all regular meals, lodging, some sightseeing entrance fees, preparation materials, travel insurance, and some materials for the trip.
How much money do I need to take with me?
Because most expenses are included in the cost of the trip you don’t need to take a lot of spending money. You will need spending money for incidentals, snacks, souvenirs, etc. Many people travel with as little as $100 (US).
Who leads the trips?
Most trips are led by our director, Steve Brazzel. Steve has been on hundreds of mission trips and is able to help the team navigate through all sorts of challenges. Groups from single churches usually have a team leader from their church as well. Steve will work closely with this leader to ensure an effective trip for the team.
Do you provide trip insurance?
Yes. We purchase travel insurance for team members on all of our overseas trips and many of our US trips. You will receive information about the insurance prior to departure. Travel insurance will cover everything from lost luggage to medical emergencies and emergency evacuations.
Are trips for groups or individuals?
The short answer to this question is: YES. Most of our trips are open to both groups and individuals and we have led trips with both on the same trip. If you are interested in putting together a group from your church please click here.
Will there be any preparation provided?
YES. Steve Brazzel has published a mission trip manual, Mission Central. Everyone who goes on a trip with ETC will receive a copy of Mission Central which includes a 15 day devotional to be completed prior to the trip. It also has a section on logistics which helps you to know which questions will be answered prior to leaving. Steve will meet with everyone who goes prior to leaving, either in person or by video conference. He is also always available by email, phone, or text.
Do you help with fundraising?
We have produced a guide to help you build a support team of prayers and givers. You can download a copy of this guide here.
How do I pay for my trip? Can I send a check or pay online?
You can do both. We accept checks and we have an online portal here. Send checks to:
